Bismi Llaahi l-raḥmaani l-raḥeem

1. Alrrahmanu;

   Rahman (the possessor of all of the qualities referenced by the Beautiful Names),

2. AAallama alqurana;

   Taught the Quran (formed the qualities pertaining to the dimension of Names).

3. Khalaqa alinsana;

   Created man,

4. AAallamahu albayana;

   And taught him eloquence (manifested the Names on man) (as Hadhrat Ali says, “Man became a talking Quran.”);

5. Alshshamsu waalqamaru bihusbanin;

   The Sun (comprehension) and the Moon (emotion – feeling) are with a measure (in levels).

6. Waalnnajmu waalshshajaru yasjudani;

   The star (ideas) and the tree (the body) are in prostration (in a state of nonexistence in the sight of the Names).

7. Waalssamaa rafaAAaha wawadaAAa almeezana;

   He has raised the heaven (consciousness; from the level of the self-accusing self [nafs-i lawwama] to the level of the pleasing self [nafs-i mardhiya]) and established a balance (the ability to live in balance of unity and multiplicity).

8. Alla tatghaw fee almeezani;

   That you do not do injustice to that balance (so that you do not go to extreme in one and thus be deprived of the other).

9. Waaqeemoo alwazna bialqisti wala tukhsiroo almeezana;

   Evaluate justly (according to the laws of Uluhiyyah) and do not become losers by failing to live by that balance!

10. Waalarda wadaAAaha lilanami;

    And upon the earth (the body) He formed the creatures (the micro-universe)!

11. Feeha fakihatun waalnnakhlu thatu alakmami;

    Therein (on earth) is a fruit (man), like palm trees (brain) full of sheathed clusters (ready and receptive)!

12. Waalhabbu thoo alAAasfi waalrrayhani;

    And sprouted grains (blossoming observations of the reality) and pleasantly scented plants (behaviors pertaining to the reality of man).

13. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

14. Khalaqa alinsana min salsalin kaalfakhkhari;

    He created man (the body) from processed dry clay (the formation of the cellular structure).

15. Wakhalaqa aljanna min marijin min narin;

    And He created the jann (the invisible beings; the jinn) from a smokeless flame of fire (radiation, radiant energy, electromagnetic wave body).

16. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

17. Rabbu almashriqayni warabbu almaghribayni;

    He is the Rabb of the two easts (the world and the eternal life after death) and the Rabb of the two wests (the world and the dimension of the grave).

18. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

19. Maraja albahrayni yaltaqiyani;

    He let loose the two seas (angelic and animalistic tendencies; the universal consciousness and the individual consciousness); they meet together.

20. Baynahuma barzakhun la yabghiyani;

    Yet between them is a barrier; which they do not transgress (both fulfill their own functions within their own field).

21. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

22. Yakhruju minhuma alluluo waalmarjanu;

    From them comes forth the pearl and the coral (various qualities).

23. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

24. Walahu aljawari almunshaatu fee albahri kaalaAAlami;

    To Him belong the constructed ships (bodies) that sail like mountains (constructed identities – ego) in the sea (the knowledge of the reality)!

25. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

26. Kullu man AAalayha fanin;

    Everyone on the earth (corporeal life) is transitory (every sense of self - identity or individual consciousness will taste death).

27. Wayabqa wajhu rabbika thoo aljalali waalikrami;

    Baqi (eternal, without being subject to the concept of time) is the face (the absolute reality) of your Rabb (the meanings of the Names comprising your essence), the Dhul-Jalali Wal-Ikram

28. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

29. Yasaluhu man fee alssamawati waalardi kulla yawmin huwa fee shanin;

    Everything in the heavens and the earth asks from Him; at every instance HU (the Absolute Essence of Existence) manifests Himself in yet another way!

30. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

31. Sanafrughu lakum ayyuha alththaqalani;

    Soon We shall attend to you (for account), O guilt laden community of man and jinn!

32. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

33. Ya maAAshara aljinni waalinsi ini istataAAtum an tanfuthoo min aqtari alssamawati waalardi faonfuthoo la tanfuthoona illa bisultanin;

    O communities of jinn and man, if you are able to pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass (live without a body)! But you cannot pass unless you possess the power (the manifestation of Allah’s attribute of Power [Qadir] on you).

34. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

35. Yursalu AAalaykuma shuwathun min narin wanuhasun fala tantasirani;

    There will be sent upon (both of) you a flame of fire and smoke (ambiguity and confusion in your consciousness), and you will not be successful!

36. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

37. Faitha inshaqqati alssamao fakanat wardatan kaalddihani;

    And when (during death) the heaven (the identity; ego) is split asunder and (the reality) becomes (undeniably clear and the ego-self disappears) burnt oil colored, like a rose (the reality is observed)!

38. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

39. Fayawmaithin la yusalu AAan thanbihi insun wala jannun;

    At that time none among men or jinn will be asked about his offences (they will begin to live the natural consequences of their deeds)!

40. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

41. YuAArafu almujrimoona biseemahum fayukhathu bialnnawasee waalaqdami;

    The guilty will be recognized by their faces (the reflection of their disposition) and seized by their foreheads and feet.

42. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

43. Hathihi jahannamu allatee yukaththibu biha almujrimoona;

    This is the Hell the guilty ones denied!

44. Yatoofoona baynaha wabayna hameemin anin;

    They will go around between it and boiling water (the burning value judgments brought by their conditionings).

45. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

46. Waliman khafa maqama rabbihi jannatani;

    There are two Paradises for the one who fears the position of His Rabb (action and sensation – Paradises of meaning).

47. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

48. Thawata afnanin;

    With various branches (life qualities) spread out (in both Paradises).

49. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

50. Feehima AAaynani tajriyani;

    In both of them are two springs, flowing!

51. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

52. Feehima min kulli fakihatin zawjani;

    In both (of those Paradises) are fruits (gnosis) of both kinds (extrinsic and intrinsic)!

53. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

54. Muttakieena AAala furushin batainuha min istabraqin wajana aljannatayni danin;

    They will rest upon beds whose linings are of silk brocade... The fruits of both Paradises will be so easy to pick!

55. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

56. Feehinna qasiratu alttarfi lam yatmithhunna insun qablahum wala jannun;

    There are those whose glances are directed only to their partners, untouched by any man or jinn before them (no impurities caused by identity/ego-based ideas and emotions)!

57. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

58. Kaannahunna alyaqootu waalmarjanu;

    As if they are rubies or coral.

59. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

60. Hal jazao alihsani illa alihsanu;

    Is not good the reward for good (servitude done through the observation of the Truth)?

61. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

62. Wamin doonihima jannatani;

    And besides these two Paradises are two more Paradises.

63. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

64. Mudhammatani;

    Both of them ever green!

65. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

66. Feehima AAaynani naddakhatani;

    In both of them are two springs (reflections of the Rahman), constantly spouting!

67. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

68. Feehima fakihatun wanakhlun warummanun;

    In both of them are fruits and palm trees (symbolic of consciousness manifesting the attributes of the Truth) and pomegranates (symbolic of the single consciousness administering the life of multiple forms)!

69. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

70. Feehinna khayratun hisanun;

    In (those Paradises) are the most magnificent, the most beautiful.

71. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

72. Hoorun maqsooratun fee alkhiyami;

    Houris reserved only for their partners (partners – bodies that are equipped and capacitated to fulfill all of the desires of the forms of consciousness that manifest the attributes of the Truth. Please see 13:35, 47:15)!

73. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

74. Lam yatmithhunna insun qablahum wala jannun;

    Untouched by no man or jinn before them (no impurities caused by identity/ego-based ideas and emotions)!

75. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

76. Muttakieena AAala rafrafin khudrin waAAabqariyyin hisanin;

    They rest upon green cushions and beautifully embroidered fine carpets.

77. Fabiayyi alai rabbikuma tukaththibani;

    So, which of the favors of your Rabb (the Names comprising your essence – your consciousness and body) will you deny?

78. Tabaraka ismu rabbika thee aljalali waalikrami;

    Sublime is the name of your Rabb the Dhul-Jalali Wal-Ikram!
