Waalssamai thati alburooji;

By the space containing the constellations!

Waalyawmi almawAAoodi;

And the promised time!

Washahidin wamashhoodin;

And by the witness and the witnessed!

Qutila ashabu alukhdoodi;

Destroyed were the people of the trench...

Alnnari thati alwaqoodi;

In the fire full of fuel.

Ith hum AAalayha quAAoodun;

The fire around which they sat...

Wahum AAala ma yafAAaloona bialmumineena shuhoodun;

And they were witnesses to what they were doing to the believers!

Wama naqamoo minhum illa an yuminoo biAllahi alAAazeezi alhameedi;

And they avenged them (the believers) only because they believed in Allah, the Aziz, the Hamid.

Allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi waAllahu AAala kulli shayin shaheedun;

To whom belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth! Allah is witness to everything!

Inna allatheena fatanoo almumineena waalmuminati thumma lam yatooboo falahum AAathabu jahannama walahum AAathabu alhareeqi;

Indeed, those who torture the believing men and believing women and do not repent, there is the suffering of Hell for them, and there is a burning suffering for them.

Inna allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum jannatun tajree min tahtiha alanharu thalika alfawzu alkabeeru;

Indeed, those who believe and fulfill the requisites of faith, there are Paradises for them underneath which rivers flow... This is the great attainment!

Inna batsha rabbika lashadeedun;

Indeed, the seizure of your Rabb is intense!

Innahu huwa yubdio wayuAAeedu;

It is HU who originates (manifests) and then returns it (recreates)!

Wahuwa alghafooru alwadoodu;

He is the Ghafur, the Wadud.

Thoo alAAarshi almajeedi;

The owner of the Throne, the [Majeed] (AL-MAJEED… The One whose majestic glory is evident through His magnificent manifestations!) (the Majestic).

FaAAAAalun lima yureedu;

The doer of what He wills!

Hal ataka hadeethu aljunoodi;

Did the news of those armies reach you?

FirAAawna wathamooda;

Those (who destroyed) Pharaoh and Thamud!

Bali allatheena kafaroo fee taktheebin;

No! Those who disbelieve in the knowledge of the reality are in denial.

WaAllahu min waraihim muheetun;

But Allah encompassed them from (within their depths)!

Bal huwa quranun majeedun;

Indeed, this is an honored Quran.

Fee lawhin mahfoothin;

In a preserved tablet (Lawh-i Mahfuz; the unmanifest knowledge of Allah and sunnatullah)!
