Bismi Llaahi l-raḥmaani l-raḥeem

1. AlqariAAatu;

   The Qaria!

2. Ma alqariAAatu;

   What a dreadful event, the Qaria!

3. Wama adraka ma alqariAAatu;

   Do you know what the Qaria is?

4. Yawma yakoonu alnnasu kaalfarashi almabthoothi;

   It is the time when the people will be like moths (propelling towards the fire).

5. Watakoonu aljibalu kaalAAihni almanfooshi;

   And the mountains (egos) like colorful soft wool (depleted and weak)!

6. Faamma man thaqulat mawazeenuhu;

   So the results of whomever weigh heavy (at that time),

7. Fahuwa fee AAeeshatin radiyatin;

   He will be in a life well-pleasing!

8. Waamma man khaffat mawazeenuhu;

   And the results of whomever weigh light,

9. Faommuhu hawiyatun;

   His mother (abode) will be an abyss.

10. Wama adraka ma hiyah;

    Do you know what that is?

11. Narun hamiyatun;

    It is a fire that scorches at maximum intensity!
