Jazaa Allahu `anaa Sayeedinaa Muhammadan maa huwa ahluhu

O Allah, give blessings to our master Muhammad (saw) as he deserves. We are impotent from duly evaluating him…

The Rasul of Allah (saw) has taught us this salawat himself and said, “Whoever says it like this, 70 angels will write merits for him for a thousand mornings.”[1]

Allahumma salli `alaa man roohuhu mihraabool arwaahi wa malaa’ikatihi wa kawni. Allahumma salli `alaa man huwa imaamool anbiyaa wa mursaleena. Allahumma salli `alaa man huwa imaam ahli l’jannati abaadi-l Allahi l’muumeena

O Allah! May You give blessings to the One who is the Spirit of the summit (mihrab) of all the spirits, the angels and everything that has come into existence, and grant Your blessings to the imam of all the Nabis and the Rasuls! O Allah, grant Your blessings to the imam of Your believing servants, the people of Paradise.

The Pillar (Ghawth) of the time 300 years ago, Sayyid Abdulaziz ad-Dabbagh, used to attend all the Gatherings of the Diwan, due to his position. In one of these meetings he narrated the following incident between himself and the daughter of the Rasul of Allah (saw), Fatima (ra):

“We were in one of the Gatherings of the Diwan. I was sitting to the right of the Rasul of Allah (saw) with the rest of our friends. Opposite us were some female saints and other spiritual guides. Then Fatima (ra) came and sat in front of them and with the language of Paradise she uttered this salawat… In the language of Paradise every sentence or word is expressed as a letter… The letters preceding some of the chapters of the Quran, such as alif, lam, mim, ra, ta, ha and so on, also pertain to this language. After listening to this salawat, I went next to Fatima (ra) and asked her, ‘What is the merit of this salawat, O Fatima?’ She replied, ‘If all of the trees, leaves, rocks and rubble on earth became jewels they could not pay the due of the person who continues to give this salawat!’ I could not believe the scope of its merit, so I went next to the Rasul of Allah (saw) and asked him. He said, ‘Fatima told you, what else do you want? It is exactly as she has told you!’ The first thing I did upon this was to translate it to Arabic.”

Such is the significance of the salawat I provided above… Evaluate it as you like, but I believe we should read it at least 100 times a day.

Allahumma salli `alaa sayyeedinaa Muhammadin `alaa aali Sayeedinaa Muhammad, qad daaqat heelatee adhriknee yaa Rasool Allah

O Allah… Grant Your blessings to our master Muhammad and his family… I am very distressed and troubled (I feel helpless), help me (hold my hand, help me), O Rasul of Allah!

Many have read this salawat 125 times after their five prescribed salats and were delivered from their hardships. It is indeed a beautiful thing to ask for help from the spirit of the Rasul of Allah (saw). Even though we may feel unworthy who but Him can we seek refuge in and seek intercession from in this world and the hereafter!

Allahumma salli wa sallim wa baarik `alaa sayeedinaa Muhammadin `adada khalqika wa ridaa nafsika wa zeenata `arsheeka wa midaada kalimaatiq

O Allah... Grant Your praise and blessings and prosperity upon our master Muhammad (saw), to the number of Your creation, until You are pleased, to the weight of Your Throne, to the number of Your words (ink).

The Rasul of Allah taught this salawat to his wife… Nobody can estimate the reward of this salawat when done with the exact same words. If only we can read it at least 100 times a day!

Allahumma salli `ala sayeedinaa Muhammadin wa mawlaanaa Muhammadin shajarati ‘l-asli ‘n-nooraaneeati wa lam`atil qabdati ‘r-rahmaaneeati wa afdali ‘l-khaleeqati ‘l-insaaneeati wa ashrafi l’suwari l’jismaaneeati wa manb` l-asraari l-ilaheeati wa jazaa’ani l-`ulumi l-istifaaiyyati saahibi l’-qabdati l-asleeati wa r-rutbati l`aalitati wa l-bahjati s-saniyaati man indarajati ‘n-nabiyyoona tahta liwaa’ihifahum minhu wa ilayhi wa salli wa sallim `alayhi wa `alaa alihi wa sahbihi `adada maa khalaqta wa razaqta wa amata wa ahyayta ilaa yawmi tab`athu man afnayta wa salli wa sallim `alayhi wa `aleehim tasleeman katheeran

O Allah! Grant Your blessings upon our master and Protector Muhammad, the ancestry of the essence of knowledge (Nur), the spark of the handle of the Rahman, the best of human creation, the most honored among all forms, the source of divine secrets, the treasury of the chosen (purified) knowledge, the possessor of the essential handle, high rank and sublime beauty... All Nabis have been granted their degrees under his banner, they are from him and for him... And grant him, his family and companions blessings (salat and salam) to the number of those whom You have created and for whom You have provided, those whom You have caused to die and those whom You brought to life, until the day You resurrect those whom You have caused to die... And make Your blessings perpetual upon him and the others.
