"Audhu billahi minash shaytanirrajeem"

Bismi Llaahi l-raḥmaani l-raḥeem

1. Waylun lilmutaffifeena;

   Woe to those who do not measure and scale justly!

2. Allatheena itha iktaloo AAala alnnasi yastawfoona;

   They take their right from the people in full;

3. Waitha kaloohum aw wazanoohum yukhsiroona;

   Yet (when it comes to giving the right of others) they reduce the measure and give them less!

4. Ala yathunnu olaika annahum mabAAoothoona;

   Do they not think they will be resurrected (immediately after death)?

5. Liyawmin AAatheemin;

   For a tremendous time.

6. Yawma yaqoomu alnnasu lirabbi alAAalameena;

   A time when mankind will stand before the Rabb of the worlds!

7. Kalla inna kitaba alfujjari lafee sijjeenin;

   No (never)! Indeed, the record of the falsifiers (who have strayed from the Truth) is in the sijjeen!

8. Wama adraka ma sijjeenun;

   And what informs you of the sijjeen?

9. Kitabun marqoomun;

   It is a non-erasable record!

10. Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena;

    Woe to the deniers (of sunnatullah) at that time!

11. Allatheena yukaththiboona biyawmi alddeeni;

    Who denied their time of religion (the time of recompense; when the consequences of all deeds are automatically experienced)!

12. Wama yukaththibu bihi illa kullu muAAtadin atheemin;

    It is only every guilty transgressor who denies it!

13. Itha tutla AAalayhi ayatuna qala asateeru alawwaleena;

    When he is informed of Our signs he says, “The legends of the old!”

14. Kalla bal rana AAala quloobihim ma kanoo yaksiboona;

    No (never)! Rather, the products of their deeds have covered their consciousness (like rust).

15. Kalla innahum AAan rabbihim yawmaithin lamahjooboona;

    No! Indeed, that day they are veiled from their Rabb!

16. Thumma innahum lasaloo aljaheemi;

    Then, indeed, they will enter the Fire.

17. Thumma yuqalu hatha allathee kuntum bihi tukaththiboona;

    Then they will be told, “This is the thing you denied.”

18. Kalla inna kitaba alabrari lafee AAilliyyeena;

    No... Indeed, the book of the righteous is in the iliyyun.

19. Wama adraka ma AAilliyyoona;

    And what informs you of the iliyyun?

20. Kitabun marqoomun;

    It is a non-erasable record!

21. Yashhaduhu almuqarraboona;

    Witnessed by the muqarriboon (those who have attained the state of divine closeness).

22. Inna alabrara lafee naAAeemin;

    Indeed, the righteous will be in Paradises of pleasure.

23. AAala alaraiki yanthuroona;

    On lounges, observing...

24. TaAArifu fee wujoohihim nadrata alnnaAAeemi;

    You will see the radiance of pleasure on their faces.

25. Yusqawna min raheeqin makhtoomin;

    They will be made to drink from a sealed (protected) and purified wine.

26. Khitamuhu miskun wafee thalika falyatanafasi almutanafisoona;

    The last of it is musk... So let those who compete, compete for this!

27. Wamizajuhu min tasneemin;

    Its mixture is of Tasneem.

28. AAaynan yashrabu biha almuqarraboona;

    A spring from which those who have attained divine closeness (the muqarriboon) drink!

29. Inna allatheena ajramoo kanoo mina allatheena amanoo yadhakoona;

    Indeed, the guilty used to laugh at the believers.

30. Waitha marroo bihim yataghamazoona;

    When they saw them they used to blink their eyes and mock them.

31. Waitha inqalaboo ila ahlihimu inqalaboo fakiheena;

    And when they returned to their people (families and friends) they used to return rejoicing.

32. Waitha raawhum qaloo inna haolai ladalloona;

    And when they saw (the believers) they used to say, “Indeed, these ones have surely gone astray.”

33. Wama orsiloo AAalayhim hafitheena;

    Whereas they were not sent to be their guardians over them (the believers)!

34. Faalyawma allatheena amanoo mina alkuffari yadhakoona;

    So, today the believers are laughing at the veiled ones who denied the Truth!

35. AAala alaraiki yanthuroona;

    Upon lounges, observing...

36. Hal thuwwiba alkuffaru ma kanoo yafAAaloona;

    So, are the deniers of the reality thus living the consequences of their deeds?
