100 - Al-Adiyat
"Audhu billahi minash shaytanirrajeem"
Bismi Llaahi l-raḥmaani l-raḥeem
-
WaalAAadiyati dabhan;
By the racers (people who are like wild horses), panting (to collect worldly wealth),
-
Faalmooriyati qadhan;
Striking sparks of fire (out of their greed and anger),
-
Faalmugheerati subhan;
And rising at dawn to make raids,
-
Faatharna bihi naqAAan;
Who stir up clouds of dust with their greed,
-
Fawasatna bihi jamAAan;
And push and hustle their way among the people in that state... (woe to them)!
-
Inna alinsana lirabbihi lakanoodun;
Indeed, man is very ungrateful to his Rabb!
-
Wainnahu AAala thalika lashaheedun;
And to this he bears witness!
-
Wainnahu lihubbi alkhayri lashadeedun;
Indeed, he has an intense desire for wealth!
-
Afala yaAAlamu itha buAAthira ma fee alquboori;
Does he not know when that which is in the grave (the body) is dredged up and taken out,
-
Wahussila ma fee alssudoori;
And that which is in the hearts is made manifest,
-
Inna rabbahum bihim yawmaithin lakhabeerun;
That their Rabb, as the Names comprising their essence, is ever knowing (Habir) of them.
